Had lesson with 3-1 and 3-8.
Practical session with 3-1 and it was titration, the students is trying their best to get the "orange" colour although some of them failed but I can see they tried their best. I still have some students playing afool behind!! haiz... So many breakage also, please try to get consistent readings, its also important.
Can see some 3-8 students still does not take exam seriously... haiz, dunno what I can do to make them study. They behave well in class but not attentive during lesson.
Got Mrs Cheah to present Jasmin with the award and make Jasmin do a small speech :)
You did well Jasmin, dun worry...
You have a talent for drawing, make sure you draw more.
Initially suppose to have 3-2 remedial but half of the class need to go for detention!!
I had no choice to change it to consultation and I taught Gary and the boys how to solve the VA questions.
So, remember to wear your skirts and pants after PE!!!
Will be having experiment tml with 3-2 but this time, the whole class need to squeeze into one lab.
Study hard for your MT

Students hide from me and dun turn up for my lesson
Today had lesson with 1-8, 3-1 and 3-2...
Gave 1-8 EOY as mock exam and they all were screaming help because they find it too tough but its the same standard as the EOY 2009 paper. Omg, how to pass like this if they dun study!!
Lesson with 3-2 and went through one VA question, seems the class still dun understand how to solve the questions even thou I did it on the board lot of times, what should I do??? Told the class thurs will be a titration session and it will be the last before the exam.
Lesson with 3-1 was ok, finish up most of the Air worksheets and move on to give out the VA worksheets. I was thinking how many will actually do that piece of worksheets??? Haiz, no matter how much I stress they still dun seem to understand its very important!!!
Extra lesson with the same group but this time, lot of them did not turn up. Saw some of them hiding from me when I spotted them going out. Steven say they are going to the lib but is it true, only the boys will know. I cant stop them if they wan to play around even thou next week is exam. I cant stop them if they dun wan come for lesson. They want to give up why should I stop them? Sad :(
At least I still have some students who study hard and turn up for my lessons.
I lose 5 of them but I still have 35.... I still gain :)
I have tried my very best to pull those attitude students back but it seems nothing is working.
Only maybe a few had understood and wake up and studied!!!!!!
Try Try Try..... Can they appreciate omg...

Night study day.....
Had lesson with 1-8 and 3-8
Only half of class 3-8 came to school and the reason is because of the F1 ytd.
I did watch the racing but only for awhile because I don't really know how to appreciate F1.
Think my flu is better, will be in school till 9pm today because of Night Study program.
Wonder will anyone come at night to study....
Next year, will my 3-1 and 3-2 come to school and study?
Guess they will come to school for handball instead.
There will be lab session this week for 3-1 and 3-2.
Your MT exam is on thurs and fri so better study hard.
Looking forward to Thurs for a good meal.... Spanish food :)
Weiying, if you need find me can see my consultation slots on your right.
For the 15 students, please remember to come for the lesson. ( I already have 1 student on the list which I will call probably this week, combined with all the complaints the teachers have, will trash all out to his dad.)

Many many things going thru my head....
Today lesson was mmmm.... usual i think
Have lesson with 3-1 and 3-8. Both classes were very restless and noisy.
It is now term 4 but yet I cant help them to change much of their bad habit in class.
After the lesson, went for assembly but nothing worth mention about the assembly..
Then I talk to some students about the awards day stuff and off I go to the consultation lesson.
I am surprise that Qien was there and also nearly all the girls from 3-2. Where are the boys?!!!? Unless they are much much smarter than the girls... Nvm, better than no students, at least there are some souls out there wanting to learn more and had questions for me. BUT the girls are very very not FOCUS, especially the few naughty girls. Please listen to Si Jia hahaha... Time is precious!!
Finish lesson and walk back to office, saw Neil and the rest of 3-1 playing handball. Suddenly I felt pain and sadness. I don't want to talk about that already, maybe I put too much hope and give too much stress to them.
Should I just ignore them?
Should I just be a normal teacher and ignore?
Should I just do my fair share of work and ignore?
Should I just treat them as my work?
Should I continue to treat them as my dear dear students?
I had put too much emotion in them, maybe too much that I got angry everytime they misbehave.
How I wish they will appreciate and respect me more.
Today I saw a photo of my new house, the foundation is done and they are building the first floor :)
I working hard for my future, for my student and also for my student future.
They are too young to think of future so let me THINK for them instead.
They will appreciate this eventually when they old enough...
ENDURE!!!

An interesting lesson with my 3E :)
Well today was not a bad day.
Dunno why these days I had been more emotional rather than rational.
I had always been a systematic and rationale guy...
Lesson with 1-8 was bad haha, they are still not able to feel and appreciate.
Lesson with 3-2 was unexpected, because 3-2 today was very lively!!! But again, it was a nice lesson... I was disappointed with some of them, particularly with the one that did not do my work. I walk over and talk to him nicely but the response I got from him is far from acceptable. I just dunno why he is so unmotivated and with the attitude of his, I getting more and more sad. Even Boon Kiong study and finish the work I given :)
Lesson with 3-1 was fun, it is the first time my 3-1 classroom was sooooooo clean. I am very happy :)
However, I still notice that some of them still are not doing my work. Why, why why why why :(
Been busy with awards day therefore I had pick 15 students from 3-1 and sort them into 3 groups.
Mdm Toh had assigned 2 teachers to coach 2 of the groups while I take one.
Students from 3-1, please do not take our effort for granted, we are here to help you.
I will provide more details in wed lesson.
The lab is close for Phy SPA so no Chem lab for this week.
Oh ya, Mr Lew spotted someone standing outside the hall corridor today again, looking at the CCA "people"
Mr Lew complaints:
Jiajie: Please show more respect!!
Neil: If you don't work hard, you know what your dad will do.
Rebecca: ............ you know what Mr Lew want to say
Jowen: No more jokes in class please.
Work hard!!!

Answer for this week chemistry questions
1) The piece of sodium rapidly melts into a silvery-white ball which run on the surface of the water, making a hissing sound and soon catches fire. The universal indicator change from green to blue.
2) Caesium is a very reactive metal which reacts vigorously with oxygen and water in air. Therefore, it should be stored under dry argon which is an inert gas.

Enjoying my weekend :)
Sorry for the late post because I been too biz these weekend..
Mmmm wad did I do for sat, I went to the youth conference in nanyang poly in the morning with some the sec 2 kids. It was really impressive to see the other school presenting their findings on the projects they have taken up with their mentors in other institutions.
I spend most of my afternoon in orchard, first was far east then went ION. Initially I feel Ion was small, went up few floors and find that there is practically nothing much except for some expensive stores. However, went I reach the basement, I was amazed at the number of stores and variety there are in ION. Would probably go for a second tour next time. Something to note is that the food court's food is very expensive, I would eat at wisma food court instead.
Sunday morning after lunch, I went down to my friend place for his wedding. His wedding was simple, cater a buffet and there was no wedding dinner. I like the concept of keeping everything simple but again, its the "old" who is hard to convince although marriage is between we 2.
Yap there is all I did.
Got to rush some work as I had not been productive these days.

Fun CCA day....
Had my first lesson with 3-2, probably its because its the first block, they look dead!!!
Haiz but hope they still able to absorb some of the stuff into their head.
During this period of time, teacher are the most biz!!!!
SO much work to clear and stuffs to settle!!!
I still need to carry a big box of stuff back home to finish.
3-1, 3-1, 3-1 and 333----------1111111111111
Please wake up!!!! Mr Lew is dead tired and soon I will be too drained out to help any of you.
Those who have "EXAM STRESS" issue, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee look for me!!!
Do not keep to yourself, I repeat again, DO NOT KEEP TO YOURSELF!!!
CCA was quite dun today
The NPCC, NCC and Red Cross had combined PT.
I am just worried about those who are weaker, scared they might faint.
In case some of you are wondering why I was down there standing and walking around, I did that is because I am responsible for the safety of my cadets therefore I had to be there in case something happen.
I pass the poster and brochures to Mrs Cheah and she commented on one of the student work.
She said it was very well done and I think so too.
After the CCA, I found him and tell him what Mrs Cheah had said.
Saw some students were still hanging around even thou CCA had finish...
Iswaran, Cao Jian, Liting, Kaixin......
For those who have yet give me the poster, please do so on tuesday.
Enjoy your holiday :)

A tired and long day....
Did two experiments today with 3-1 and 3-2 on titration and QA.
Both classes manage to do most of the titration and my aim was to make sure they learn the correct skills in carrying out titration especially handling of the pipette and burette. I hope they will go back and read up the notes on titration because they have to do well for their SPA!!!
EE lesson with 2-1 was fun maybe because its an EE lesson therefore, more interaction can be done. I need to go through their projects and pick the best for their exhibition.
After my lessons, I went down to find Becca, Elfin and hopefully Lynnette. Found becca and told her about the special tuition I want to help her and talk to Elfin but realise that she had someone to coach her. I hope she will push herself more and seek help if she needs, Mr Lew door is always open. Trying to locate Tingyi but he is with some other teacher so maybe tml. Am going to talk to lynnette tml to see if she is interested in the tuition. (I want to say sorry to my other students, I pick these 3 students is because I feel they needed extra help)
Finally find my way to the lab to coach Fu Hui on titration because he had been missing alot of lessons and he need to know how to do titration for the SPA.
However, if any other students requires my help, please find me to book a consultation time.
Sat is also fine with me as most sat I will be in school.

a) Iron has a giant metallic structure in which a lattice of positive ions and delocalised electrons are bound together by strong metallic bonds. A large amount of energy is needed to overcome the strong metallic bonds hence iron has a high melting and boiling point.
b) Aluminium has a giant metallic structure in which a lattice of positive ions and delocalised electrons are bound together by strong metallic bonds. The layers of positive ions can slide pass each other without breaking metallic bonds.
c) Copper has a giant metallic strucutre in which a lattice of positive ions is surrounded by a sea of mobile electrons. The presence of the sea of mobile electrons acts as mobile charged carriers which enable copper to conduct electricity.

Not blue monday....
Monday.... feeling not bad, my students is having HCL mock exam, I hope they do well
Mmmm... got a call from HDB and they say I need to go down to collect the cheque, derrrrrrr so troublesome!!
But nvm for sake of the money, I will go down collect.
Suppose to have night study today but suddenly it was cancel which means I can go back earlier haha...
The question posed had not been answered therefore I may plan to remove it since none of my students are interested in answering my questions. *thinking*
Drive back home today and saw benita, liting, neil and gang... Hope they are going back home to study and not play because it is less than a month to exam!!!
REMINDER: Please do your poster for learning journey ASAP!!!
Ok, Shall go and attack my dinner *slurp*

Weird and Confused and Sad entry...
This is going to be a weird and sad post...
I had been wondering....
Am I being too close with my students?
Am I too spoon-feeding them?
Am I losing respect from them?
Do my students still treat me as teacher?
Do they just treat me like someone who can bully?
Do they treat my words as if nothing?
Sad, confused, headache, tired, lacking of sleep, heart broken...
Is my teaching approach wrong?
I just want them to feel that I really care and not just plain talking.
I just want them to feel when they need help, I will be there.
I just want them to feel I am fighting the battle with them.
I just want them to feel there is hope.
Everything had been taken for granted.
I hope someone will tell me that I had did the right thing.
I hope someone will tell me my students appreciate all these.
I hope MY STUDENTS WILL BE MORE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR STUDIES.
Maybe I just go get some sleep.
Maybe I am not a good teacher.

Afternoon lesson started at 1pm and I rush down to IMM to grab a bite before coming back with some cookies for the "sotongs" and their gang. Afternoon lesson was a bit tiring mainly because of the hot weather therefore I start being a part-time DJ.. *diao* We finish most of the KPT and Acids. (One thing to note, the little becca dislike Mr Lew, so sad :(..... )
I am still going to use the same word as yesterday... "TIRED"
I think the students and I did not feel that this is actually a HOLIDAY week but thats life...
Happy birthday to Yanshan
Enjoy your the afternoon outing, Kaixin
Have fun with tuition Benita

A Tired day... Class 3-2 to Jurong Island and CCA
There is only 1 word I want to say which is "TIRED"
Last night I barely slept and this morning I got to bring my next batch of monkeys to the Jurong Island for the Chem Gallery. Red Cross CCA was in the afternoon...
I am always amazed at my 3-1 kids because they are still down in the parade square playing hand-ball *diao*
They had so much energy to expand, wonder why sometimes..
I just agreed to help out Mahadir for their Choir camp because he said that they need a male teacher during Thursday night. I knew it is going to be hard for him to get a male teacher during this period of time therefore I told him that I should be fine with that so long as it only for that night.
Notice to 3-1 and 3-2
Please remember to come for my focus group lesson!!!

Chem Gallery today with 3-1
Reach school at about 8.30 in the morning to print all the worksheets for this Wednesday focus group lesson with the 28 students and also spend some time checking the 3-2 files and SPA files.
Realise there are two monkeys who still did not hand in their SPA file. *ANGRY*
Went to the Chem Gallery in Jurong Island today with class 3-1 and I am glad to have a chance to see the refineries on the island and realise that the working environment isn't that bad afterall. Wondering will any of my students work on the island in the future.
Ok, I need to draft my December trip itinerary and also confirm other details. *looking forward*
Tml will be a busy day, morning got to take class 3-2 to the Chem Gallery and afternoon will be CCA day.
Hope my 3-1 will study when they come to school to clock the hours and not just play around in the library.
It seems they are not scared of the exam yet... haiz :(
When will the day come when my students will be motivated, hard working and appreciating...? (*Praying*)

Answer for this week Chemistry Qn
Ok how come no one answer this week question? :(
You can post your answer in the comments column.
Answer:
(a)
Oxygen | Carbon | Hydrogen | |
Percentage | 53.33 | 40.00 | 6.67 |
Ar | 16 | 12 | 1 |
Mole | 3.33 | 3.33 | 6.67 |
Divide by smallest | 1.00 | 1.00 | 2.00 |
Empirical formula: CH2O
(b)
0.2 mol has a mass of 12.0g
Therefore 1 mol will have a mass of (12/0.2) = 60g
Let molecular formula be (CH2O)n
Mr of (CH2O)n = 60
[12 + 2 + 16] n = 180
30n = 60
n = 2
Molecular formula = (CH2O)2 = C2H4O2
Question for this week (Empirical Formula)
Compound X has a composition by mass of 40.00% carbon, 6.667% hydrogen and 53.33% oxygen.
(a) Determine the empirical formula of compound X
(b) Given that 0.20 mol of X has a mass of 12.0g, determine its molecular formula.
Answer to be reveal at 10.00 pm

First post *wink*
This is my first post so let me think what I should post...
This morning I had done...
At night we went to geylang and have dinner, plan to eat claypot rice but when we were about to sit down, the auntie came and ask if we made reservation which we din and she told us that we need to wait an hour!!!
We immediately stand up and walk off haha!!! (who will wait an hour for a pot of rice, diao!)
We end up having our dinner at the famous touhua stall and it is still DELICIOUS as before. (*burp*)
